Ode to Play, Fun, Curiosity, and Creativity


It’s exciting and intriguing to view our amazing world,

As a place to focus on creativity, curiosity, play and fun,

Knowing curiosity is having fun discovering what is possible,

While play enables creativity to see how things could be done.


This playfulness may seem selfish in our troubled world

Which has vast and complex needs for help and care,

There’s a desperate urgency for practical effort and action

Not just wasting time having fun and creating hot air.


However, play and fun can only enrich our efforts to heal

Our troubled world which we struggle to understand

If we emphasise curiosity about what the needs really are

And creativity to figure out the best way to truly give a hand.


It is thus time to take the mantra: play, fun, curiosity, creativity to heart

And put our energy into exploring and absorbing the wonders around

Instead of wanting for more and more in a future that may not come,

It is truly time to celebrate the all the marvels that we have found.


Perhaps through our fun, play, curiosity and creativity we will find a way

That will let us see our miniscule part of the universe more clearly

As part of the complex web and flow of a much greater reality,

Far more all encompassing than our tiny world that we love so dearly


I would like to focus in the short remaining time I have on earth,

On living consciously and responsibly, with opening to connections as my goal,

While trying to be more aware of fun and play in every moment

And thus with my life, to celebrate both the seen and unseen worlds as a whole.

Commensalism - the way not to see our world!!
